Movin' on up
This week on Jacob’s Letter: I’m moving! We’re moving on up to a (single-story) house from our (second-floor) apartment. The last week and a half has been devoted to packing, unpacking and organizing U-Haul runs, so this newsletter will be short and sweet. But first, a screenshot of Opal checking out her new digs:

(She gets a yard, too!)
This week’s free pop culture newsletter full of puns and badly-PhotoShopped dog photos features just a few links of some of the stuff I’ve written over the last couple of weeks. Check ‘em out below:
The Dallas Cowboys are the most valuable team in America (again), sez Forbes
You can now pay with Bitcoin at Dallas Mavs games
I saw the snake-handling church film “Them That Follow.” I didn’t care for it that much, but how Walton Goggins has gone this far in his career and NOT been cast as a rattlesnake preacher yet is beyond me. He’s fantastic in the movie, if you want to see it.
On the other hand, I very much enjoyed Linda Holmes’ debut novel “Evvie Drake Starts Over,” which is a perfect summer read to prepare you for baseball season.
I wrote an entire newsletter about the new season of “Veronica Mars” but I’m proud of the review I did for it, so here’s the review one more time.
Finally, some good music to kick your week off right:
That’s all, folks. If you liked what you saw here, click that subscribe button (promise I won’t send any annoying emails) and tell all your friends!
This newsletter is written by me and edited by my favorite person, Taylor Tompkins. Views expressed here are my own and don’t reflect the opinions of my employer, yadda yadda yadda.
If there’s anything you want to see covered in a future newsletter, let me know!
You can find me in other corners of the internet as well, if you so choose. There’s my personal website (which focuses on pop culture, faith and my journalism clips), a Twitter account and a Letterboxd account. Subscribe away.
See you next week,
Jake
