New from me in the Fort Worth paper of record:
Last week, I drove out to AT&T Stadium for a five-hour-long Elder Millennial Convention Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid show. The occasion? Green Day’s new tour in support of their new album “Saviors.”
But the big draw for the night was hearing the California pop-punk rockers play two of their biggest albumms back to back. 2024 year marks the anniversary of both the 1994 slacker behemoth “Dookie” and the 2004 rock opera protest album “American Idiot.”
I had a great time, and was kind of suprised that a Green Day concert in Texas on the annivesary of 9/11 didn’t get too political (aside from, you know, “American Idiot.”)
